Cardiology

Imaging and interventional cardiology in valvular heart disease.

Our cardiology team consists of non-invasive and invasive (interventional) specialists. Invasive cardiology sometimes includes examinations and therapeutic measures in which catheters are inserted into the heart cavities or coronary vessels via the large vessels in the cardiac catheterisation laboratory.

Catheter-based heart valve therapy

The range of services in interventional (invasive) cardiology includes all currently recognized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures. Catheter-based heart valve therapies have established themselves as a modern alternative to the surgical treatment of heart valves, which has been tried and tested for decades.

In particular, seriously ill people and those who are not suitable for classical surgery can nowadays be successfully treated thanks to the latest technology and without the use of the heart-lung machine in order to regain a comfortable quality of life.
